"Buck asked the audience to reminisce to those years when they were in school. He asked them to remember how Mom & Dad asked about your day and homework. You brought home your report card, all excited by your grades. Mom fixed your favorite dessert for dinner and Dad slipped you a dollar. you were awakened by the smell of breakfast and mom made sure you had your coat buttoned as you ran out the door. You felt secure because you knew someone cared, you were important. Now imagine the scenario which addresses the children who get on the school bus in the morning; maybe they are a little dirty and hungry. Other kids may not want to sit with them. The meal at school may be the only meal of the day. There is no one to help with homework, and sometimes they have to take care of siblings. Some kids bristle and become determined to succeed. Sadly, about 99% accept the opposite. They feel inferior and become withdrawn and quite often rebellious. These children need help during this critical time in their life, and we cannot let those children become causalities.
